438 - The Hunger by Alma Katsu

Here's the fourth of five Bram Stoker nominees for the best novel in 2018. It's a creepy historical fiction horror book about the infamous Donner Party trip across the country in the mid nineteenth century. So this is the second time we're reviewing a memoir, which is always an odd proposition, because you're essentially agreeing to review someone's life. I think this turned out pretty nice, and we'll be interviewing Les in the coming weeks as well. Here it is! Our 31st (?) book of the year! This is one of those rare instances where a book arrives on our doorstep and we choose to review it. So Little Brown sent this along to Livius and it sounded interesting, so we gave it a shot.

Check it out! We finally decided to review a revered heavy hitter, Shirley Jackson. Check out what we have to say about We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Then, we discuss the passing of a comic book giant, Stan Lee. And of course, Robb discusses a story from his past.
